Solstice House
Designed for passive solar heating, the Solstice House is a low-energy home and features green building technologies. Large windows facing south flood the vaulted central space with heat-generating light. The sloping roof and arbor keep the living area cool in the summer, while a Tulikivi wood stove adds to the warmth in winter months. The Trombe wall is tiled with limestone. The home's interior, influenced by Japanese design, includes a sunken entryway and sliding doors. Design: The Johnson Partnership Read interview with Nicole Tadano and Nick Provo, owners WATCH VIDEO.
